As some of you may know, my mom and dads house burned down this last weekend (Jan. 30th, 2010). It was a major tragedy for us. Even though my sister and I are moved out, it was always home. Lots of memories and our lives were started in that house.

Now it is gone.

As horrible as this is the good part is that my Mom and Dad are okay. It had snowed and the roads were very bad, so dad had taken mom to work that morning. When he got back home, the house was engulfed in flames. Its sad to have lost so much, but the most important things were safe… my parents.

I’d like to invite anyone who is interested to attend a benefit dinner for them this Saturday (Feb. 6th). Here is the info as it appears on flyers.

Raffle For Homemade Quilt And 4 Hour Limo Ride Donated By Comaier Limo

Feb. 6th, 2010 – 4:30pm till ?
Civic Center In Omaha, IL

Good Food.
Good Friends.
Good Cause.

Randy and Brenda York lost their home on January 30th, 2010 due to a tragic house fire. In order to ease the financial burden and help them through these hard times their family and friends are holding a benefit dinner in their honor. Dinner is by donation and there will be a raffle for a homemade quilt and a 4 hour Limo ride by Comaier Limo. All donations will go to Randy and Brenda York to help them recover from the loss of their home.

And finally, I’m posting a PayPal Donate button on the side of the page. I wasn’t going to set one up, but people have been asking so I’ve set this up. All donations will be given to my parents. I’m ignorant when it comes to this PayPal thing, so email me your address, too. (xxabsentxx@hotmail.com) My parents will want to thank you personally. It’s really amazing how much people have shown they cared. Mind you I’m not asking for donations. All I ask is to keep my parents in your thoughts. It really means a lot to me to know people care. Thank you all so much!
